Reading Room

The Reading Room is the focal point of village events and is available for hire as a venue.  Events have included childrens parties; wedding receptions; quiz nights; art exhibitions; suppers; concerts and wakes. 

It is a large (40ft x 30ft), versatile space with capacity for x100 people.  There is an extremely well equipped kitchen plus ladies and gents loos.  

Also available for hire for events outside the Reading Room are: 

tables - cutlery - glasses - crockery 

Hire charges for these items are available from the Bookings Clerk.  We respectfully ask that East Grimstead residents make a donation to the Reading Room if they wish to borrow any items.

The Reading Room Committee co-ordinate many of the village events:

The committee would love to hear your ideas for social get togethers plus thoughts of how to increase use of the Reading Room and improve its interior and exterior décor  Recent improvements have been the installation of acoustic panels on the ceiling to dampen unwanted sound and the purchase of attractive new curtains.
